چکیده
Objectiyes: Deep seawater (DSW) utilization technology has been developed for the fieads of medicine and health, among others. [[b clarify the health effects of DSW as compared with swrface seawater (SSW) or tap water (TW), we investigated the changes of immune cell distribution of the peripheral blood, or subjective judgment scores, after hot water bathing. Methods: [[bn healthy young men were immersed for 10 min in DSW SSW and TW heated to 42eC. Blood samples were eoLlected before bathing, immediately after bathing and 60 min after bathing. Total and differential numbers of leucocytes and lymphocyte subsets (CD3, CD4, CD8, (]D19, CD16, and CD56) were examined using an automated hematology analyzer and a flow cytornete4 respectivety. The subjective judgment scores were ebtained by an oral comprehension test. Results: Since the pre-bathing leukocyte count in the TW group was significantly different frem those in the DSW and SSW groups, we excluded the findings of TW bathing from consideration. On hot DSW bathing, CD8-lymphecytes increased significantly. immediately after bathing (p<O.05), in contrast to hot SSW bathing, in which no significant changes were detected in the lymphocyte subsets. Additionally, there were no significant changes between repeated measurements in the subjective judgment scores, thollgh the score of thermal sensation in SSW bathing showed a significant]y higher yalue immediately after bathing than before bathing (p<O.Ol). Conclusions: Our findings uggest that increased CD8-lymphocytes in hot DSW bathing may improve human immune function as well as hot springs do, as compared with SSW bathing. Although hot DSW bathing may haye the ability to change human immune cell distribution, well-designed studies are needed to clarify the health effects including not onty DSVV and SSW but also TW

متن کاملEffects of hot deep seawater bathing on the immune cell distribution in peripheral blood from healthy young men.
OBJECTIVES Deep seawater (DSW) utilization technology has been developed for the fields of medicine and health, among others. To clarify the health effects of DSW as compared with surface seawater (SSW) or tap water (TW), we investigated the changes of immune cell distribution of the peripheral blood, or subjective judgment scores, after hot water bathing. METHODS Ten healthy young men were i...
متن کاملEffects of hot bath immersion on autonomic activity and hemodynamics: comparison of the elderly patient and the healthy young.
Hot bathing has been associated with sudden death and so the present study investigated its effects on autonomic activity and hemodynamics in the elderly patient and the healthy young by analyzing heart rate variability (HRV). Subjects were 9 elderly men (mean age, 75 years) and 9 young men (mean age, 27 years), who were immersed up to shoulder level while in a sitting position for 10min with t...

Background & objectives: Caffeine can affect many physiological functions of the body. The aim of this study was to investigate the response of aerobic function, blood pressure and some immune system factors of trained men to acute caffeine consumption in dehydrated condition and warm and humid environment. Methods: Thirty male athletes with a mean age of 26.6±3.9 years in dehydrated conditions...

Blood hypercoagulability or thrombogenicity can be one of the main causes of the cardiovascular diseases in young population without traditional pathologic risk factors such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension or hyperlipidemia. The effect of aerobic exercise on coagulation and fibrinolysis has been studied extensively Regarding to the effectivness of resistance exercises to increase functional...
